Report on 2008 Baja 1000
Quinn Cody, riding with Caleb Gosselaar, Tim Morton and Timmy Weigand on the 10x Honda CRF 450X bike came in second giving Honda another 1-2 Baja 1000 win.
“My section was about 230mi from near Mexicalli to San Felipe.” Quinn says. “It was an extremely rough section this year. Kendall and I came into the pit at the end of Laguna Salida (where we had a scheduled wheel change) nearly on top of each other. He was pulling the bike off the stand as I came into the pit. The pit guys did an amazing job of changing front and rear wheels on both bikes in less than a minute. I think by the time Kendall and I finished our section we had pulled a 30 min lead on the third place team.” This victory was the 19th Overall win for Honda in the Baja 1000.
Setting a record for the most Overall Motorcycle Baja 1000 wins with his 11th overall in this year’s Baja 1000, Johnny Campbell surpassed off-road legend Larry Roeseler’s record. At an unofficial time of 12 hours, 29 minutes Johnny Campbell, Robby Bell and Kendall Norman celebrated the win on their Honda CRF450X bike, number 1x. Way to go!
